Tantric Sex and Hypnosis
Tantric Sex
Tantric
sex is an ancient practice that dates back thousands of years in the
Hindu philosophy. Tantric sex is a much more spiritual and esoteric
practice than the way sex is conducted in the western world. Tantra emphasises the
god and goddess within, and the sacred play between the masculine and femine
that creates the whole universe. It‘s not all about getting off and feeling the
momentarty ecstacy of genital orgasm, the emphasis is on circulating the sexual
kundalini energy within and between lovers, builing up, over time to a kind of
bliss that is so delicious, it is hard to define.
There is a popular idea that
tantric sex lasts a long time, but it is not like genital sex prolonged for hours. It is
much better than that !!
Tantric Philosophy
To understand tantra, it is necessary to understand the philosophy that underpins it.
The manifest universe, the world as we know it, ourselves included, are the creations of the one god called Brahman in the Hindu belief system. Being all-that-is, there was no experience except for the bliss of unity. Brahman decided to experience itself so it caused a split in itself. The two halves of the manifest universe were called Shakti and Shiva. Being two, they can experience the other as none other than themselves. They recognise each other as the manifestation of the love of God.
Shakti and Shiva
Shiva and Shakti are the eternal lovers of the universe. In each other they recognise the other as none other that Brahman, and they recognise their complimentarity. Their bliss is to be re-united in the bliss of eternal unity from which they came. Consequently, tantric sex recognises and exalts in the presence of the divine feminine and the divine masculine in the lovers.
Shakti is the female principle, the goddess who is the mother of the physical world. She is the source of all life.
Shiva is the masculine principle, the unmanifest spirit. Action, strength and wisdom are his.
Kundalini
We people are reflections of the cosmic blueprint. Our bodies are energised by Shakti's light, which is called kundalini. We are guided by Shiva's spirit. The stuff from which we are built is divine, and our urge to pair with the opposite sex is built into our beingness from below the subatomic level.
Chakras and Nadis
There is, according to Tantric knowledge, a series of energy centres called chakras on and above the physical body. Interconnecting the chakras, is a series of energy channels called nadis. These energy centres are directly visible to true claivoyants and seers, and connect with - basically forming - the aura. To a seer, the human body looks like a set of bright funnels of coloured light connecting to the front and rear of 7 points on the body. The whole auric field looks like a large coloured egg in a truly healthy human. These are called chakras (Sanskrit for “wheel”) - They are:
-
Base Chakra. This is located at the perineum and is a red colour. It governs physical strength and grounds us to the earth.
-
Sacral Chakra. This is located around the top of the pubic area, and is an orange hue. This is the centre of creativity and conventional genital sex
-
Solar Plexus Chakra. This is located at the solar plexus, is is yellow. This is called the lower mind, the thinking mind that dominates the western mindset.
-
Heart Chakra. This is located at the centre of the chest (not to the left like the physical heart). It is coloured both pink and green, in a way that is hard to think about. This energy centre governs unconditional love, much like the love of a mother for her child.
-
Throat Chakra. This is located at the throat and governs communications. It is smaller than other chakras and blue coloured.
-
Third Eye Chakra. This is located at the forehead above the nose, and is violet coloured. It connects to the infinite source of intuition.
-
Crown Chakra. This is at the crown of the head. White in colour, it connects us to Shiva's spirit – the unmanifest. This one is often described as the “thousand petalled lotus” because that is what it looks like.
Ida, Pingala and Sushumna
Running along the spine is a triple-stranded energy channel which connects to the tips of the coloured light funnels (chakras). Kundilini energy is conducted through this channel up and down. Kundilini is a manifestation of Shakti, and generally resides in the first and second chakras.
Activating Kundalini
The
practice of Tantra activates the kundalini energy, which rises through
the spinal channel and activates each of the chakras as it ascends.
Finally kundalini reaches the crown Chakra and is reconnected to Shiva
in divine bliss. Tantric practices include exercises to consciously circulate the
energy through these energy centres and channels. Breathing in, taking the energy down the front
of your body and swirling it round your pelvic region, breathing out and
shooting it up your spine, spinning through the energy channels as it goes and then
spurting it out your crown chakra like a fountain. If you keep this practice going for a while,
you find you get very energised, relaxed and aware.
Once you become proficient at circulating your own energy, it‘s time to do it with your lover.
In this exercise, you circulate the breath and the energy between yourselves. Consciously
merging your energies in this way makes for an intimate openness that is deeply satisfying
in it‘s own right.
Tantric orgasm
The thing is, as Shakti's energy activates the chakras, an orgasm happens. Not the 5 second if you're lucky kind of orgasm and a wet spot, but something that overwhelms your mind and body for a long time. An orgasm that seems to happen in every cell of your body; an orgasm that you feel in your energy body – your light-body – every bit as intensely. An orgasm where you glimpse the unity of all that is. And not necessarily a wet spot.
Hypnosis
It is possible to draw analogies between the tantric worldview and hypnosis. The core esoteric idea of hypnosis is the subconscious or unconscious mind that is actually running your life and your body – for you.
What IS the unconscious mind?
If you dig deep into hypnosis literature, you will find out that there is only one unconscious mind, and everybody shares the same mind. The unconscious mind can heal your body, heal your mind, it can teach your body or your mind anything. The application of hypnosis is limited only by your imagination.
Tantra would call that Brahmin. Others might call that God. So by doing hypnosis or tantra, you are effectively praying. Speaking directly to God.
Ken Wilber explains that perenial urge at the end of the book “Boomeritis”, in terms that everyone is seeking unity with the all-that-is, because fundamentally, that is the reality. The awareness that pervades every perception - bodily sensation, emotion, thought - is who you really are. He writes "Man the Seer becomes one with the Seen, Woman the Seen becomes one with the Seer"..."Men tend to want autonomy, they want freedom, Women tend to want relationship, they want fullness. Freedom and Fullness...until these are united, men and women are both fated to be torn and fractured, partial and incomplete"... "the only way you can have total freedom is to have nothing outside of you...the only way you can do that is to be one with everything...The only way to have total relationship or complete Fullness is to have nothing outside of you that you could ever want, and the only way you can do that is also to become one with everything"
